Load-to-Truck Ratios Ease Off

Jan 21 – 27 – Rates declined for the third week straight, but remain higher than at any point in 2017. Load-to-truck ratios have eased off from record highs, but the ELD mandate, a healthy economy and regional snowstorms continue to exert pressure on truckload capacity. National average rates dipped 1¢ for vans and flatbeds last week, while the average reefer rate dropped 3¢.
