Van and reefer rates dip 1¢ while flatbed price rises

Feb 17 – 23 – Rates continue their seasonal slide, but the pace of the decline has slowed. The national average van and reefer rate was down just a penny, while the average flatbed rate took its first upturn in six weeks, rising 1¢ per mile. Freight volumes in February are up compared to January, and rising volumes should reignite rates during March.
