Spot rates continue their mid-summer slide
National Spot Rates: Van, Flatbed, Reefer
Truckload capacity continues to loosen for dry van and reefer
Aug 15 – 21 – Rates for truckload shipments on the spot market continue to slide, as looser capacity and lower fuel prices have lead to a softening market. The national average for dry van rates is down 19 cents so far compared to July, with flatbed down 20 cents and reefer down 8 cents.
