4th of July and Close of Q2 Keep the Pressure On
Jun 24 – 30 – Urgency to move freight before the end of Q2 and ahead of the 4th of July holiday kept rates high last week. June ended with record-setting rates for vans, reefers and flatbeds. The national average van rate moved up 1¢ to $2.32 per mile. The national reefer rate was $2.69 per mile, and the national flatbed rate increased 1¢ to 2.82 per mile. Load-to-truck ratios increased for reefers, held steady for vans, and declined for flatbeds.
