Summer break for spot freight?

Rates return to April / May levels

Aug 12 – 18 – Late-summer spot market demand isn’t nearly as overheated as it was in early summer, and freight rates for each trailer type were back down to April and May levels last week. That’s still high for this time of year, but prices are trending downward, with a 2¢ drop in the national van and flatbed rates and a 1¢ decline in the national reefer rate.
