Van and reefer rates return to May levels
Sep 23 – 29 -Shipping resumed out of the Carolinas last week, following the disruptions caused by Hurricane Florence, and load-to-truck ratios rose for dry van and refrigerated freight. Pricing stabilized as well, with the national averages for dry van and flatbed holding steady, while the national reefer rate dipped a penny. For the month of September, rates for van and reefer freight were back to about where they were in May, while flatbed prices continued their seasonal slide.
