Flatbed Load-to-Truck Ratio Surges
Feb 25 – Mar 3 – Vans held steady at a national average of $2.14 per mile, after seven weeks of declining rates. Van rates may be ready to rebound. Meanwhile, the load-to-truck ratio for flatbeds hit a record high of almost 80:1 last week, and the average flatbed rate rose 4¢. The national average rate for reefers declined 3¢, but load volume is on the rise.
