Spring Produce Boosts Reefer Rates

Flatbed Rate Dips from Record High

May 6 – 12 – Spring produce season is underway, boosting the national average reefer rate 1¢ per mile. Van rates took a breather last week, as the national average van rate declined 3¢ per mile, despite a strong showing from several Southern markets. The average flatbed rate dipped 1¢ per mile from a record high the previous week, and the flatbed load-to-truck ratio remains over 100 loads per truck.
