Flatbed Load-to-Truck Ratio Remains Above 100
Apr 15 – 21 – Van and reefer rates took a slight dip last week, as produce is slow to take off and winter weather returned to parts of the Northeast and Midwest. The national average van rate fell 5¢ per mile, and the average reefer rate declined 2¢, while the flatbed rate increased 1¢. Still, rates for all three equipment types are higher than their March averages, and the flatbed load-to-truck ratio has exceeded 100 loads per truck for four weeks in a row.
