Average Flatbed Rate Increases
Mar 18 – 24 – Freight volumes are building and load-to-truck ratios increased for all three equipment types last week. The national average van rate dipped 1¢ per mile, while the average reefer rate held steady and the flatbed rate gained 2¢. Rates could go up as we approach Easter, the end of the quarter, and the beginning of the penalty phase of the ELD mandate on April 1.
